Toon boom is a crucial peice of software to use as a 2D animator. This week we have been using this software (as well as a Adobe Photoshop) to create a layout / layered background, in which we can try to show a sense of depth. I included around 7 layers with this test shot, including foreground images and background images. For an added effect i included moving clouds and smoke coming from the house

Character Sheet sea project
Tonight I decided to try out some character model ideas, and came up with this as a rough character sheet for the Rescuer. All that we have decided so far is that we want this character to have a lot of strength, and to be a well build lad, mainly because the child he is rescuing is very fat and we want them to be opposites to each other to highlight the humours aspect. I included a core breakdown of physical attributes to this model. I will upload the 'fat child' model next.
Group Sea Project
For our second semester, we have been tasked with our first group animation. This project will last till the end of the year, so is our first major project. Each group has been given a sound clip from a real cornwall rescue story. My team consists of myself, Jordan and Harry, who are both excellent 2D artists and animators and who's skills compliment each others and myself, which naturally led us to the to the decision of making this animation 2D, frame by frame animation. As for a style and technique we have not confirmed yet, however we have created our first, very rough and basic animatic which is missing quite a lot of key movement and shots, however it works for a general idea of what we will end up doing. As a note, we are aiming for this animation to be humours.

Emotion Change
This week we were given the task to have a simple character emotion change, using any animation format we choose. I decided to use Maya as I haven't touched it in a week or so. I have to admit this was slightly rushed and could be more developed but it works for a simple emotion change.

Showing Weight In Animation.
Showing weight in animation is a key attribute which highlights reality and enhances
believably, which is incredibly important. This week we have been asked to create a short animation of a character picking up an object to show weight. We could use any animation technique and i decided to use traditional 2D draw animation. In all I used 150 individual drawings.

Sea Test
In anticipation for our upcoming major group project to do with the sea, we've been asked to do a basic
sea animation test, in any medium. I haven't used flash very much so I thought id give it ago.
I have to to say it was very quick to use, and a very efficient way of animating (even though it was a very rough and crude animation)
